Scholarship Distribution Programme 2026–27: NIC’s Key Technical Role in Disbursing Over ₹148 Crore in Student Scholarships

On 03 October 2026, the first scholarship distribution programme for the academic session 2026–27 was ceremoniously inaugurated at Lok Bhawan, Lucknow, by Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. On this historic occasion, scholarship and fee reimbursement amounting to more than ₹148 crore was successfully transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the Aadhar seeded bank accounts of more than 4.60 lakh eligible students belonging to the Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, General Category and Minority communities.

National Informatics Centre, Uttar Pradesh, played a significant role in the successful implementation of this extensive scholarship distribution programme through its robust digital infrastructure and high-quality technical services, facilitating the transparent and efficient disbursement of benefits to eligible students.
