SIO, NIC Uttar Pradesh Delivered Online Webinar on “Crisis Communication through Social Media in Government Setups” for Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), Lucknow

Shri Ashesh Kumar Agrawal, Dy. Director General & State Informatics Officer (SIO), National Informatics Centre (NIC), Lucknow, delivered an online 2-hour webinar session on the theme “Crisis Communication through Social Media in Government Setups” on 13th February 2026 for officers and supervisors of the Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), Lucknow.
The webinar was organized by IRITM as part of its academic and capacity-building initiatives and witnessed active participation from railway officers and supervisory officials. In his lecture, Shri Ashesh Kumar Agrawal, DDG & SIO, highlighted the growing role of social media as an operational governance tool for large public institutions like Indian Railways, emphasizing timely acknowledgment, dissemination of verified information, structured grievance handling, and coordinated inter-departmental response during crises.
